Our verdict
The Core 600S (UK model LAP-C601S-WUK) is the large-room member of Levoit’s Core range and has the highest CADR of any purifier we list: 697 m³/h on Levoit’s UK page, with no test standard named. By our five-air-changes rule that covers about 58 m²; Levoit’s 147 m² assumes two air changes an hour. Our guide to what size air purifier you need explains the difference. It is a 60 cm, 6.2 kg floor-standing unit that wants 38 cm clear on every side.
The app is the reason to choose it over a Core 300S. Besides standard auto, the VeSync app offers Quiet auto (low and medium speeds only), Efficient auto (turbo for a time based on your room size) and Eco auto, which stops and starts the fan while the air reads very good. Light detection, off by default, switches the display off in a dark room, and the purifier remembers its settings after a power cut, apart from the timer. Levoit rates sleep mode at 26 dB but gives no top-speed figure.
Filters and running costs
There is one filter, the Core 600S-RF cylinder with a pre-filter, main filter and activated carbon, and it is the only type Levoit’s UK store sells for this model. Levoit says six to 12 months; the app estimates remaining life from use and air quality and sends a reminder, and holding the check-filter button for three seconds resets it. Vacuum the pre-filter every two to four weeks, never wash it, and clean the sensor openings every three months. Power is 49 W on top speed, about 0.4 kWh over eight hours.

Levoit Core 600S questions
Which filter fits the Levoit Core 600S?
The Core 600S-RF, a three-stage cylinder with a pre-filter, main filter and activated carbon layer. It is the only filter type Levoit’s UK store lists for this model, so there is no pet or toxin version as there is for the Core 300S. The manual says to use only official Levoit filters to keep the purifier performing.
How often does the Levoit Core 600S filter need replacing?
Every six to 12 months, Levoit says. Running all day, the check-filter light should come on after about six to 12 months, later with lighter use, and the VeSync app estimates remaining life from air quality and use. After fitting a new filter, hold the check-filter button for three seconds until the light goes out; the same press resets it if you changed the filter early.
Why does my Levoit Core 600S turn its display off at night?
That is light detection: when it is on, the display switches off in a dark room. It is off by default; turn it on or off in the app, or by holding the display button for three seconds. If the display won’t stay on in a dark room, or the purifier keeps switching itself off at night, turn light detection off.
What is Eco auto mode on the Levoit Core 600S?
One of three extra auto modes in the VeSync app. In Eco auto, the fan stops and starts while the air reads very good, rather than running all the time. Quiet auto keeps to the low and medium speeds, and Efficient auto runs on turbo for a time based on the room size you enter.
How do I reset the Levoit Core 600S to its default settings?
Hold the power button for 15 seconds until the Wi-Fi light goes out; that disconnects it from Wi-Fi and restores the default settings. If E1 shows on the display, the motor has failed and you should contact Levoit UK support. Use the purifier where humidity stays below 85% RH, as moisture can damage the filter and let mould grow on it.
