Our verdict
The HealthPro 250 is IQAir’s main room purifier, sold in the UK in a version with a UK plug, and it is built differently from the rest of our list. Air passes a PreMax F8 pre-filter, then a V5-Cell with about 2.5 kg of activated carbon and impregnated alumina for gases and odours, then a HyperHEPA filter that IQAir classes H13 to EN 1822 at airflows up to 240 m³/h (H12 at 560 m³/h).
IQAir publishes no CADR, only airflow: 50 to 440 m³/h over six speeds, drawing 20 to 135 W, at 22 to 57 dB(A). Its 104 m² room size assumes two air changes an hour; at five it is about 42 m², a large room on our scale. Each unit is tested with its filters fitted and ships with a certificate of performance, and IQAir says it uses no ionisation or ozone.
There is no sensor, auto mode or app: you pick one of six speeds or set the daily and weekly timer, and IQAir asks for at least 30 cm from the nearest wall. For what three filters on separate cycles mean over the years, read our guide to air purifier replacement filters.
Filters and running costs
Each filter runs on its own cycle, at 12 hours a day on speed 3: PreMax 12 to 18 months, V5-Cell 15 to 21 months and HyperHEPA 36 to 48 months. Green, orange and red lights track each one, and the monitor can be set to count down faster in dusty or smoky homes. Louder running, weaker airflow or more odour are signs a filter is spent early. At 20 W on speed 1, eight hours uses about 0.16 kWh; at the top 135 W it is about 1.1 kWh. Our filter finder has the article numbers.

IQAir HealthPro 250 questions
How often do the IQAir HealthPro 250 filters need changing?
Each on its own cycle. IQAir rates the PreMax pre-filter for 12 to 18 months, the V5-Cell gas and odour filter for 15 to 21 months and the HyperHEPA for 36 to 48 months, all at 12 hours a day on fan speed 3. Running it harder or in a smoky home shortens them; the filter lights show when each is due.
What do the orange and red filter lights on an IQAir mean?
They show how much of each filter’s estimated life is used. Green means it is within the first 80%, orange means it is in the last 20%, and red means it has reached the end of its life. Blinking red means it is past that point, and IQAir says to replace that filter straight away.
How do I reset the filter life on an IQAir HealthPro 250?
Through the menu, after each filter change. Press Menu seven times, hold Enter until the cursor flashes, pick the filter you changed with the arrow key, press Enter, then press Enter again to confirm. Order replacements by the name and article number printed on each filter’s label, and fit them with the label arrows pointing up.
Does the IQAir HealthPro 250 produce ozone?
IQAir says it doesn’t: the HealthPro uses no ionisation, ozone or PECO technology, only mechanical HyperHEPA and gas-phase filters. UK advisers are wary of the alternatives: SAGE-EMG did not recommend ionisers or plasma devices unless proven safe, because they may create irritant by-products, and the Department for Education advises against ionisers in schools.
How long is the IQAir HealthPro 250 warranty in the UK?
Three years from the original purchase, bought from IQAir or an authorised partner, and IQAir recommends registering within 90 days. Genuine filters are covered for 30 days. The warranty covers the first purchaser only, excludes misuse, wear, unauthorised repair, tampering and non-IQAir power accessories, and returns need the original packaging.
